Interview questions for, or to ask, infosec candidates

Interviews for a security engineer or SOC analyst position can be stressful as quite a few will include in-depth technical questions. I’ve helped quite a few people prepare for infosec interviews over the years, so I wanted to make a post to help others prepare as well. I will provide a large number of questions which can be used to help an infosec professional prepare for an interview, but this list of questions will also help infosec professionals and hiring managers when interviewing candidates. It can be used as a quick reference guide to construct a list of questions to ask potential candidates. The questions will vary for a variety of different roles, so an interviewer and interviewee would need to pick and choose the appropriate questions based on the role/job duties. The list contains a mixture of technical questions as well as personality type questions.
